By Robert Milligan: So for the last couple of years I’ve watched a new construction design emerge as a pleasant alternative to the ubiquitous Spanish-Med that we’ve seen for quite a while now. I didn’t know exactly how to describe the new architectural style at first but the label en vogue for now is “coastal contemporary”. London Bay Homes, a very high end gulf coast home builder visited our office today to show us a further refined style they are classifying as “West Indies coastal contemporary”. This is the theme for their models in the new “Spice Bay” enclave of homes at the southern end of Siesta Key, on the bayside about halfway between Crescent and Turtle Beach.
London Bay’s models are ranging from $2.5 – $8 million and “The Mandeville” pictured at left is a great example of W Indies design. It is to be built at 1238 Sharswood Lane Sarasota. Price for The Mandeville is not presently advertised, but is available upon request. London Bay also builds in Naples, so if you find a model you like there, come get your comparable lot in Sarasota for half price!
